There are only a few places in Phoenix to really escape the hustle. Here are my top four picks.

White Tank Mountains

This gem can be found in the far West Valley. Although not easy to get to, it is well worth the trip. Even just from the road, the views of the city are breathtaking. It is the best of both worlds, you can simply pick a spot and sit, or, like many other parks in Maricopa County, pick one of the many hiking trails. Either way, you will feel refreshed and reset after visiting the White Tanks.

South Mountain

This has always been my go-to when I need to clear my head and get grounded. With the mountains on the southern end of Phoenix and multiple hiking and driving access point, your view is not limited. My favorite has always been Dobbins Lookout. Although it’s a winding road, you can see for miles. And those miles make everything seem so far away. In turn, making it much easier to refocus and ground yourself.

Mountain View Park

Yet another great place to get out of the world and clear your head. Located in the Sunnyslope area of Phoenix, there are not any driving access points. So if you decide to check this spot out, be ready to do some hiking. Mountain View Park has some of the greatest views in that part of town. But this area would be more fitting for someone who not only wishes to clear their head but also reset their bodies.

Anthem

Anthem is more about the peaceful drive up. Of course, you have many options once you get there, but for me, it is all about the dirt road that runs along the edge of the highway. I have always been the type who enjoys the freedom of being away from everything and not having to worry. Begin able to still stay close to the highway, but far enough away to not be in the middle of the hustle is my ideal mind clear.

But don’t take my word for it. Check out each of these locations and others here in the Phoenix area and across Maricopa County.
